MacDiveTabe/DiveTableX Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ
Q: Like all divers, I like to log my dives, will you ever include this feature?
A: It's possible, but unlikely. Please see the software called DiveBook by Box O' Rox Software.

Q: There is a major problem with your software and Jaguar and Panther. What is going on?
A: Version 2.0 solves this problem. Please download it to fix all Mac OS X 10.2.x and later compatibility problems.

Q: What if I want to calculate the minimum surface interval between two dives?
A: Simply select Minimum Surface Interval from the Dive Menu. It will bring up a new window where you can enter your planned depths and bottom times. The program will then display how long you must stay on the surface before performing the second dive.

Q: Is there support for metric units?
A: Starting with version 2.0, the units selection is made from the Preferences window accessed by selecting "Preferences" from the DiveTableX menu.

Q: When using the metric units, the numbers don't match up.
A: That's not really a question, but I will still provide an answer. I used English tables for the database, with a simple conversion from the meters entered to feet for database lookup. This conversion does not always match up with the metric tables, but it falls within the safe range, so all numbers can be trusted.

Q: Will there ever be a Windows version of this software?
A: Unlikely. Apple's Xcode in conjunction with the Cocoa APIs are used heavily to make this program. Neither of these are compatible with Windows at this time.

Arbitrary Quote - I finally came up with a punishment for the boy. First, no leaving the house, not even for school. Second, no egg nog. In fact, no nog period! And third, absolutely no stealing for three months!
